The Underbuster Gwazae machine (the first to be imported into the UK) was originally purchased for the treatment of orchards.
The machine was used during winter 2006, and included drainage and aeration work in cider-apple and cherry orchards. Growers were soon reporting a drier appearance to their orchards.
Spring/Summer work concentrates on improved aeration, drainage and deep pan removal in both of these crops.
Treated for aeration and deep pan removal. Trials are in hand injecting mycorrhizal colonies and fertiliser formulations into the subsoil for improved plant and fruit health.
The Gwazae machine has been modified for use on strawberry beds for aeration with and without nutrient injection.
